Copyediting
If you have a manuscript, it needs a copyeditor.
Copyeditors perform a range of functions: proofreading, correcting for grammar, checking to see that a text adheres to style guides, and ensuring that a manuscript is clear, concise, and easy to read.
Depending on your needs and those of your manuscript, editing can be:
- Light (correcting only mechanical, grammar, and style issues)
- Medium (light editing plus adjustments for clarity/readability)
- Heavy (medium editing only with more intense adjustments for clarity/readability)
Why choose me?
- I have a certificate in copyediting from UCSD.
- I am well versed in both the APA and Chicago Manual style.
- I am experienced with students and ESL writers.
Unlike copyeditors merely coming from an English language education, I have a background in the life sciences, which means I know the jargon. I also have experience in statistics. This means in addition to editing your writing, I can also help ensure that your scientific data is rational and consistent.
